Fishing techniques
Angling
Requires a lure dressing the angle (or hook) ; the line then moves on the stream. This technique is typical of lake fishing, where the wind’s presence pulls the lure.
Bolognese fishing
No doubt the Bolognese rod is one of the most versatile tools especially used in rapid stream fishing. These telescopic rods are made of conic pieces and have rod rings and a reel so one can cast the float out. The float is cast out and then with the aid of the pole it is held back against the flow of a river. This way it is possible to slow down float's speed in a current and thus increase the time that the fish have to take the bait.
Telescopic rods can be of different length: classic ones measure 4.5 to 8 m in length.
English fishing
It uses the English rod, together with cock balls fixed on the line. Born exclusively as an inland fishing technique, it has been lately adapted to sea fishing.
Bottom fishing
This consists of taking a weight tied to the end of the line to the bottom of a river, at a maximum distance of 100m from the bank. It’s probably one of the most ancient fishing techniques which, year after year has found specific places where to be adopted. This technique doesn’t require particular rods, but the Bolognese rod is commonly used. Specialized fishing rods called donkas are also commonly used for bottom fishing.
